What's included

What a tyre fitting visit includes

One visit, one price, and a wheel that leaves properly torqued and balanced rather than nipped up and hoped for.

The van comes to your postcode

Home, workplace, supermarket car park or roadside.

Old tyre removed from the rim

Nylon-protected changer, so alloys and diamond-cut faces are never scored.

New tyre fitted and inflated

Correct rotation direction, seated on the bead, set to your door-plate pressure.

Wheel balanced before it goes back

Spun and weighted until the reading is clean. No wobble at 60mph.

Torqued to the vehicle's figure

A calibrated torque wrench, not a rattle gun guess.

Old casing taken away

Your scrap tyre leaves with us and goes into the licensed waste stream.

The difference

Why a mobile fitter beats a garage slot

A tyre job at a garage is rarely a tyre job. It is a phone call to find a slot, a drive there on a spare or a flat, a wait in a room with a television nobody is watching, and a drive back.

Mobile fitting removes all of it except the twenty minutes. We arrive where the car already is, with the tyre already on the van, and the work happens while you carry on with your morning.

What you gain beyond time is honesty. There is no upsell counter and no service advisor working to a target.

  • The price quoted on the phone is the price on the invoice
  • Every wheel balanced, not just fitted
  • Torqued with a calibrated wrench, never a rattle gun guess
  • Old casings removed under a waste transfer note

How it works

From your call to driving away

Five steps, and the price is agreed before anyone gets in the van.

Call and read us the sidewall

The numbers on the tyre wall give us size, load index and speed rating.

We quote and give a window

The full cost including fitting, balancing, a new valve, disposal and VAT, plus a realistic arrival time.

The van is loaded and sent

Your size comes off the shelf.

    Fitted, balanced and away

Changed, balanced on the van's balancer and torqued to the manufacturer's figure.

Cost

What changes the price of a mobile tyre fitting job

There is no single figure for a tyre, because a 15-inch budget casing and a 21-inch run-flat are different goods.

Tyre size and profileBigger rim diameters and lower profiles cost more to buy and take longer to fit.
Brand tier you choosePremium (Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Dunlop), mid-range (Hankook, Toyo, Nexen) or budget.
Run-flat constructionReinforced sidewalls need more machine work and cost more as a casing.
How many wheelsFour in one visit costs less per wheel than four separate callouts.
Time of the calloutNight, Sunday and bank holiday emergency work carries a callout element.
Included as standardFitting, balancing, a new rubber valve, pressure setting and disposal of the old casing are in every quote.

Know the law

What the UK tyre rules actually say

Worth knowing before an MOT, and worth knowing before a police officer explains it to you.

Wheel balancer reading in the mobile tyre fitting van

The legal minimum tread depth for a car in the UK is 1.6mm, measured across the central three quarters of the tread width and around the complete circumference. It is not an average, and it is not measured at the deepest point.

An illegal tyre carries a fine of up to £2,500 and three penalty points. Per tyre.

Independent testing has found wet stopping distances can differ by as much as 44% between a tyre at 3mm and one at the legal limit. That is why we flag replacement at 3mm rather than waiting for the wear bars to surface.

Legal minimum1.6mm across the central three quarters
Recommended replacement3mm, for wet braking performance
Penalty per illegal tyreUp to £2,500 and three points

Questions

Mobile tyre fitting in Epsom: your questions answered

The things customers ask us most often, answered properly.

Where can I find mobile tyre fitting in Epsom?

Mobile Tyre Fitting Epsom covers the whole of Epsom and the surrounding areas including Ewell, Epsom Downs, Epsom Common, Stoneleigh and Ashtead, across the KT17, KT18, KT19 and KT21 postcodes.

How quickly can you get to me in Epsom?

We aim to reach you within twenty to thirty minutes across Epsom and the nearby areas.

What is the legal tyre tread depth in the UK?

1.6mm, measured across the central three quarters of the tread and around the complete circumference.

Is mobile tyre fitting available 24/7 in Epsom?

Yes. We operate twenty four hours a day, seven days a week across Epsom and Surrey, including nights, Sundays and bank holidays.

What tyre brands do you fit?

We carry and source a full range across three tiers: premium brands such as Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Dunlop and Yokohama, mid-range options including Hankook, Toyo, Nexen, Laufenn and Maxxis, and budget tyres such as Hifly, Nankang and Rapid where they make sense.

How long does mobile tyre fitting take?

A single tyre typically takes twenty to thirty minutes on site including balancing. A full set of four is usually done within forty five minutes to an hour.

Do you repair punctures or only replace tyres?

We repair wherever the damage allows it, because a repair costs a fraction of a new tyre.

Do you do car batteries as well as tyres?

Yes.

Do I need to be with the car while you fit the tyres?

Not necessarily.

Can you fit tyres on the road or only on a driveway?

Both, provided it is safe. We need enough room to get the van alongside, a level and solid surface for the jack, and traffic that is not running straight past the working side.

What if I do not know my tyre size?

Read the numbers off the sidewall of any tyre on the car, for example 205/55 R16 91V. If the tyre is destroyed, give us the registration and we will look up the factory fitment.

Can you fit tyres I have bought myself?

Yes. We will fit customer-supplied tyres at a fitting-only rate, provided they are the correct size, load index and speed rating for the vehicle and are not visibly damaged or past a sensible age.

Is mobile tyre fitting more expensive than a garage?

On a like-for-like tyre the difference is usually small, and it disappears once you count the cost of getting to the garage and the half day you lose sitting there.

Do you replace the valve when you fit a new tyre?

A new rubber valve is included as standard with every new tyre, because an old valve is a common cause of a slow leak on an otherwise good tyre.
